The Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS) offers its congratulations to Dr. Patcharaporn Wongsa, an expert in Biotech Ventures at TCELS, on being recognized as a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP) and receiving a certificate and a pin from the Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals (ATTP). The Alliance was founded by 14 international associations including AUTM, ASTP, ISTA, KCA and PRAXIS AURIL to represent professionals engaged in knowledge exchange and the transfer of knowledge and technology.

Dr. Patcharaporn has been recognized internationally as an expert with core competencies in enhancing knowledge about intellectual property protection, the transfer process of IP rights, incubating startups as well as formulating policies to mobilize transfers of technology and innovation for commercial and social  benefit.

As part of the application criteria for the RTTP, candidates are required to attend training programs organized by alliance associations of the ATTP. In Thailand, the training course is held by the APEC Biomedical Technology Commercialization Training Center (TCTC). Attendees, who receive support from the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), are required to earn a minimum of 60 points and work effectively in the field of knowledge transfer and technology transfer for at least 3 years to receive AUTM accreditation.

Candidates must tender an essay in the English language to demonstrate that they have gained the key skills to be effective and to perform successfully in their professions. The RTTP applicants have to submit the essays to ATTP for an intensive review by a committee of international experts. The applicants who pass the assessment will receive the RTTP title and be awarded a certificate and ATTP-recognized pin.

At present, there are over 500 professionals holding the RTTP title, of whom three have qualified for RTTP status through the TCTC training course, namely Dr. Lerson Tanasugarn, Ms. Eliza Stefaniw and the most recent, Dr. Patcharaporn.

ATTP is the international body for associations representing professionals engaged in technology transfer and comprises members of twelve associations from around the world.
