Dinner Talk on 5G disruptive healthcare

The Department of Industry and Investment Strategy under the Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS), the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, recently organized a Dinner Talk on Disruptive Technologies and their Impacts on Healthcare. Dr. Somkiat Tangkitvanich, President of Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) graced the occasion as a speaker. The event was held on 19 March 2020 at Pathumwan Princess Hotel.

The department is responsible for promoting and developing entrepreneurs in the life sciences business to enter the market or leverage the industry sector. It also stimulates and supports technology transfers and investment in the Thai life sciences industry from both the government and private sectors.

The missions of the department are to create mechanisms for promoting business development and investment in the life sciences industry, develop a business database and analyze trends in life sciences.

The Dinner Talk was organized to explore the transformation of the healthcare industry in the 5G era and drew interest from executives of public and private healthcare organizations.

To prevent further spread of the COVID-19 infection, participants were required to wear face masks and have their temperature taken prior to entering the event. Moreover, the TCELS prepared hand sanitizing gel and maintained distance between seats for safety and to lower risk of transmission.

The invited guests who could not attend the event were able to join the Dinner Talk via Facebook Live and interact with the speaker during the Q&A session.
